TWO ASSESSMENTS IN ONE

AIM includes two types of assessment; the first is a personality assessment (using the Enneagram) and the second measures where a person is developmentally and maturationally (the Identity Maturation framework, or IMf). Together, the Enneagram and the IMf reveal a map of self/personality within the boundaries of a person’s maturity. For example, a very mature Enneagram Three shows up differently to a less mature Enneagram Three. It is therefore of limited value to provide a generic map of self/personality through the Enneagram without taking maturity into account. AIM provides for this.

AIM may be used for the assessment of individuals, teams or entire organisational systems.

WHY USE A DEVELOPMENTAL ASSESSMENT AT ALL?

People travel more efficiently using maps. Maps are certainly not the territory, but they can give a good idea of what we can expect on the journey. This makes the journey easier and we generally have a better chance of making it to where we want to go if we have a map.

Assessments are similar; they are not us, but they point to aspects of a person’s inner world so that they can better understand themselves. Assessments build a language with which people can understand and communicate their inner worlds more effectively so that they have a greater chance of showing up in the way that they want to; at work, at home, in life.

Not all maps are created equally though; some maps forget to include critical information and some are simply inaccurate. It is important to choose a map that others have travelled by, and that has some credibility and academic rigour. This is where AIM offers coaches and their clients a unique, impactful and validated developmental map.
